HOMEWORK POLICY

It is well documented that homework can strengthen skills taught during the day. Homework serves to reinforce and generalize knowledge.  In addition, it demonstrates to students that they can be independent learners and teaches lifelong learning skills of responsibility and dedication to a task.

Normally, K-3 students will be required to complete short tasks. Intermediate students (4-6) should expect 5-10 minutes per grade level, e.g.: Grade 4, 20-40 minutes; Grade 5, 25-50 minutes; Grade 6, 30-60 minutes.

All students in grades 3-6 will receive a homework notebook. Please check it daily for completion. If your child consistently comes home saying he/she has no homework, you may wish to contact the teacher.
