Service projects makes our community
a better place to live.
2005-2006
Every year our class does a service project to help our community. This year we decided to raise money to help Hurricane Katrina victims. We had to research a lot of organizations so we can make our choice of which organization to give our money to. We have decided that we will give our money to N.O.A.H.H. (New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity). We have had a few sales and we have made over $1000.00. Our class has sold many types of cards, we have done carwashes and we have done many craft sales, bake sales and carwashes.
When we do service learning in class we divide into groups so we can get more than one thing done. Our groups are: Fundraising, Contact, Advertising and Scheduling. We also have a leadership team who leads us.
2004-2005
Last year our class supported Summit Assistance Dogs. Summit Assistance gives service dogs to people with special needs. We supported a dog named Alki, now she is growing up and is going to help someone special soon. You can also go to the research page and click on Summit Assistance to learn more!
